Story
Animal: Sachi, a 13-year-old quarter pony
Problem: A round sarcoid on the left side of his neck
Sachi came to the barn about three years ago with a round sarcoid on the left side of his neck. It was approximately 2 by 2.5 inches. It would grow thin hair in the winter and be bald through the summer. It didn't seem to bother him, but sometimes he'd scrape it on something and end up with a scab. Two traditional vets examined it. Both recommended that nothing be done, stating that even a biopsy of the area could get it to start growing larger and become thicker. Trainers and friends with horses related horror stories of sarcoids which were made much worse with attempts to remove them.
When Dr. Landau came to the barn, I didn't even ask him to look at it, but he noticed it and provided a cream to rub into it daily. Within a couple of weeks there was improvement and within 2 months it was gone, including the hair growing back. It has now been a couple of months with no sign of recurrence. Everyone in the barn is amazed.
Though Sachi didn't seem to care about the sarcoid, he really enjoys Dr. Landau's chiropractic adjustments. Plus he's moving more freely.
And his bug spray works really well too.
